Eligibility and Contest Period
- This giveaway is open to prospective first year domestic undergraduate students of Acadia University who:
- Register for and attend Experience Acadia Day on February 23, 2024 AND
- Accept their offer to attend Acadia University starting in the Fall 2024 by 11:59 p.m. AST on February 23, 2024
- Employees of Acadia University, and members of their immediate family (ie: spouse, child, sibling, parent) and/or any member of their immediate household or who live at the same address are not eligible
- The Win a $1,000 Tuition Credit Contest (the “Contest”) is run by Acadia University and will take place starting January 22, 2024 and end February, 2024 at 11:59 p.m. AST
- No purchase necessary
- Register for and attend Experience Acadia Day on February 23, 2024
- You must have already accepted your offer to attend Acadia beginning in the fall of 2024 or you must accept your offer by 11:59 p.m. AST on Experience Acadia Day (February, 2024) to be eligible to win
- Eligible participants will receive a maximum of one (1) entry
- The winner will be selected by random draw on Monday, February 26, 2024 in the Office of Enrolment Services, Wu Welcome Centre, Acadia University, 512 Main Street, Wolfville, NS, B4P 2R6
- The selected entrant will be contacted by e-mail within ten (10) business days of the draw date. If the selected entrant cannot be contacted within that time frame, or does not comply with the Official Contest Rules, the prize will be forfeited and an alternative eligible entry will be selected.
- Acadia University is not responsible for the failure of any reason whatsoever of a selected potential winner to receive notification or for Acadia University to receive a selected potential winner’s response.
- The odds of winner depend on the number of eligible entries received.
- There is one (1) prize eligible to be won
- The prize consists of a tuition credit equal to the sum $1,000 (one thousand dollars) at Acadia University, to be applied to the Fall/Winter 2024 academic year only (September 2024 – April 2025)
- The total prize value will not exceed $1,000 (one thousand dollars) paid in a manner subject to Acadia University’s sole discretion
- The prize does not confer on the winner an automatic right to be enrolled in a program of study at Acadia University. Winners are still required to meet all entrance and admission requirements for their selected program of study
- In order to claim the prize and be declared a winner, the selected entrant will be required to:
- Correctly answer a skill testing mathematical question administered by email or by phone within the time frame provided.
- Complete and sign a declaration and release form confirming compliance with the contest rules
- Accept the prize as awarded
- If the selected entrant is under the age of majority, then his or her parent or guardian must also sign a declaration, release and indemnity form
- There is no cash alternative or substitution of the prize provided. The prize is provided “as is” without warranty of any kind and must be accepted as awarded.
- The prize is not transferable.
- There is no cash refund for any unused credit.
- By participating in this contest, you agree:
- To be bound by these Official Contest Rules and the decisions of Acadia University, whose decisions are final.
- To the use of your name, likeness, voice, image, recording, video footage and statements in connection with this contest.
- To receive email communications from Acadia University with information relating to programs, campuses, campus events and admission updates.
- If selected the winner, you give Acadia University the right to publish your name, likeness, voice, image, recording, video footage and statements for promotional or editorial purposes, without compensation other than the value of the prize offered.
- To release Acadia University and respective employees, officers and representatives from any liability in connection with or arising out of this contest and the awarding of the prize.
- Acadia University reserves the right, without prior notice, and at any time, to terminate the contest, in whole or in part, or modify or extend the contest in any way
